Toro Albalá has been producing some of the world’s finest sherry from Pedro Ximénez grapes in the albariza soils of Montilla-Moriles in Andalusia, Spain for over a hundred years. Antonio Sánchez Romero has been at the helm of the family-owned winery since the 1970s; his eccentric character, passion for craftsmanship, and vision for the future of the house have spurred them into stardom. Most notably are their vintage-dated Pedro Ximénez wines. However, their savoury and unfortified wines, such as the 1922-laid solera Amontillado, are poured at many of the world’s best restaurants.
