Soto Manrique is a small, passionate producer working in the Sierra de Gredos, the dramatic granite mountain range west of Madrid where altitude, extreme diurnal temperature shifts, and ancient bush vine Garnacha are redefining what Spanish red wine can be. 'El Galayo', named for the striking rock formation that watches over the vineyards, is a wine of genuine mountain character and wild, untamed energy. Deep ruby with a violet hue, the nose is vivid and expressive with red cherry, wild berry, crushed granite, and aromatic herbs. The palate is fresh and medium bodied with fine tannins, electric acidity, and a long, mineral driven finish. Gredos Garnacha at its most captivating.
