The compelling wines of Sami Odi

Fraser Mckinley is THE name and a name near impossible to wear it out. He burst onto the scene around 2007 and was instantly a talking point with his calvados shaped bottles and unique approach to winemaking.

With experience at Torbreck Wines and The Standish Wine Co, Fraser already had a deep appreciation of the beauty of Barossa and possibility of great grape growing. After making a deal with the Hoffman family he secured four precious rows of vines and began to experiment and gain a better understanding of the site.

Working with organic viticulture and remarking at the health of the soils over time, Fraser’s identity began to develop into what is now a minimal intervention approach with the aim to be as transparent as possible.

Phenolic ripeness and freshness is key and his approach to blending is something to behold.

Blending of site, parcel, barrel or vintage the aim is to produce the best possible wine of complexing and identity.

The labels, like Fraser himself, are unique and anything but humdrum. Once you’ve sampled these wines you’ll gravite to them like a moth to a flame.
