Bertrand Gautherot is the man behind the label, Vouette & Sorbée, named for his 2 primary vineyards on the 5-hectare estate. He is a passionate grower, having led the charge for biodynamics in the Aube with his certification in 1998. He is best known for his Fidèle cuvée (a Blanc de Noirs made from Pinot Noir) and Blanc d’Argile (a Blanc de Blancs from Chardonnay). All wines are fermented in barrel or amphora with zero dosage, looking to showcase the terroir of the vineyard first and foremost. With the small size of the estate and Gautherot’s hands-on approach to farming, Vouette & Sorbée quantities are limited.
