Jean-Marc Sélèque took over his family’s estate in 2008 as 3rd generation vigneron. In 2015, he built a new winery and re-named the label with his initials, as he’s given their humble label a new lease on life. Today, he is crafting some of Épernay’s most exciting grower Champagnes. He works 9ha of organically farmed vines across Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs. His Solessence cuvées are designed to reflect their terroir, with the name translating to “essence of the soil”.
The rosé is a combination of 45% Chardonnay, 40% Meunier, and 15% Pinot Noir. The colour and texture come from a combination of 10% skin-contact Meunier and 5% Coteaux Champenois Rouge. 40% reserve wine and 2g/L residual sugar add the final touch to this mineral-driven, red-fruited bubble.
