Maison Champy has an extensive and impressive history in Beaune, laying claim to the title ‘oldest négociant house in Burgundy’. Founded in 1720, the Champy family were always on the cutting edge of science and innovation. They were friends with Louis Pasteur, who utilized their cellars before publishing his now legendary book on wine and pasteurization. Their estate was designed with Eiffel architecture and is listed on the Renown Historical Monuments Trust. They currently own 21 hectares, with more than half currently farmed organically and the rest in conversion.

Although the vineyards are concentrated in the Cote de Beaune, they also have parcels in Chablis. This Chablis Premier Cru comes from 3 separate plots, with 9 months on lees in seasoned oak barrels.
