Rose with morning dew drops, red apple and pear cuddled by dried raspberry and shimmery minerals. Blood orange billows, little pink salt crunch. A near perfect pink sparkling.
Aurélien first undertook his crafting of the Rosé de Meunier in 2012, a love letter to Pinot Meunier. Fruit from the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay and Vallée de la Marne vineyards. Using both methods of champagne rosé creation, assemblage (‘blending’) and saignée(‘bleeding’), there are three wines that make up the final blend. A subtle dosage at 2.5 g/L to preserve aromatics without sacrificing freshness.
Laherte Frères was founded in 1889 in the small village of Chavot-Courcourt on the Côteaux Sud d’Épernay, in the south of Épernay. One of the revivalists of the grower Champagne movement - Aurélien humbly explains, ‘Nature [comes] first. You follow nature and you help’.
