'Rainbow Juice' 2022

Gentle Folk Wines is the second career for husband and wife, Gareth and Rainbo Belton. They were both formally trained scientists studying marine plants (talk about about a meet cute). Their love of food, wine, and comradery in the vineyard, had them returning to the Adelaide Hills time and again. So, in 2012 they began their new adventure with 3 barrels of fruit from a friend’s vineyard. Today they farm 5 sites totalling 8ha of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. They also purchase fruit from growers with whom they know and admire. The ‘Village’ Shiraz for example, comes from 3 of the best Hills sites – Ngeringa, Murdoch Hill, and Turnbull. While they also offer some serious thinking single-site wines, the ‘Rainbow Juice’ cuvée is a perfect picnic beverage utilizing Pinot Gris, Merlot, Muscat Blanco, Pinot Noir, Gamay, Gewurztraminer, Syrah, Chardonnay, Riesling, Sangiovese, Grenache, and Sauvignon Blanc (yowza!)
