Made by the family-run estate Forjas del Salnés in the Val do Salnés sub-zone of Rías Baixas, Galicia, Spain, the 2024 “Leirana” Albariño comes from old vines planted on sandy, granitic soils close to the Atlantic with a strong maritime influence. Indigenous yeasts drive fermentation in a mix of stainless steel and large oak foudres, with several months on lees adding texture while preserving vibrant natural acidity and maritime clarity. The wine is bright and sharply focused, offering aromas of citrus zest, honeysuckle and sea breeze and a palate that is taut, mineral-laced and saline with lively acidity and a persistent finish that reflects its cool, Atlantic-coastal origin.
