One of the earliest wineries to settle in the Martinborough, the Dry River Estate vineyard was planted in 1979. Today they have 3 blocks, the Dry River Estate, the Craighall and the Lovat blocks (the block will be labelled if it comes from solely one). From the very beginning the Dry River team lived by three principles: no irrigation, careful canopy management, and the use of crop thinning; this was the recipe for concentrated and ripe berries. The wines continue to show concentration along with an ability to age for many years to come.
