Laurent Tribut married Marie-Clotilde Dauvissat (René Dauvissat's daughter) and thus entered the winery. The Dauvissat family had long before bought very good Chablis vineyards, located next to their own Premier Crus, so that their children could also become winemakers if they wanted to. And that is exactly what Laurent Tribut and Marie-Clotilde have done.
It is a small family business where Laurent works on 5 hectares of vineyards where they produce modest quantities of Chablis. Marie-Clotilde takes care of the business side. They live with their children on their vineyards in a large farm near Vincent Dauvissat. Laurent and Marie-Clotilde's daughter, Solange, has now also started working in the family business as a winemaker.
Laurent Tribut first made his wines in the cellars of Dauvissat for many years. Laurent has now moved to cellars in Poinchy, just outside Chablis. There the wines are still made in the way that is characteristic of Dauvissat. Harvesting by hand and fermentation in temperature-controlled enamel tanks. A percentage of the wine matures in old oak barrels. Vinification takes place 5 to 6 weeks before bottling and a light filtering is used during bottling.
