From the historic Sunbury vineyard just northwest of Melbourne, Craiglee’s 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is grown, hand-picked and vinified on the estate by Pat Carmody, who has nurtured this cool-climate site since replanting in the 1970s and built a reputation for distinctive, savoury reds. The 2020 shows medium-weight presence with spicy red and black currant aromatics intertwined with tobacco leaf, dried herbs and cedar oak, leading to a palate of red currant, red cherry and mulberry fruit framed by fine, slightly dry tannins and fresh acidity, finishing with earthy herb and subtle cedary complexity that underscores its balanced yet expressive Victorian character.
