Sam Coverdale has worked all over the world, honing his winemaking skills through France, Spain, and Italy. But he found his home amongst the vines (and surf) of cool-climate Mornington Peninsula, in southern Victoria. He established Even Keel wines in 2006. This label aims to celebrate grape and place, meaning he has established long-term relationships with growers across Australia, and hopes to showcase the regions from which they are from. Syrah from Canberra, Chardonnay from Tumbarumba, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir from Mornington Peninsula. He and his team work closely with the growers to ensure the vineyards are reaching maximum potential and sustainability. His estate vineyards in Mornington are used to showcase single-vineyard expressions under the Polperro label.
