Vincent Couche is a grower-producer based in the Côte des Bar. As the region gains notoriety for producers like Cédric Bouchard and Vouette & Sorbée, we continue to see the emergence of excellent producers who have otherwise flown under the radar; Vincent Couche is one such producer. He farms 10 hectares of Pinot Noir in Buxeuil and 3 hectares of Chardonnay in ancient chalk bed in Montgueux using biodynamic techniques. His wines lean to an oxidative style across the board, and he even produces a solera-style called Cuvée Chloe. These wines won’t be staying under the radar much longer as they also offer exceptional value.
Vincent Couche’s Élégance Brut Nature captures the soul of the Côte des Bar. Farmed biodynamically and crafted without dosage, it’s a Champagne of honesty and finesse—Pinot Noir lending depth and spice, Chardonnay its crystalline brightness. Notes of pear, citrus and chalk unfold in a silken, vibrant bead. Grown on Kimmeridgian limestone in Buxeuil and chalky soils of Montgueux, it balances power and poise effortlessly. Naturally fermented and aged on lees for complexity, this is Champagne made with conviction and clarity. Perfect for those who seek precision, texture and terroir-driven character in every glass.
