From foraging to forward thinking

Bruno Duchêne originally made his way in life as a wild mushroom merchant and was successfully persuaded after spending some time with winemaker Frederic Cossard in Burgundy, to pursue the vigneron lifestyle.

He headed south to Roussillon in 2002 and found the harsh landscape of Côte Vermeille alluring.  Located between the Pyrenees and Mediterranean Coast, this area is known for producing sweet fortified wines and yet Duchêne goes against the grain and crafts dry red wines, all manually harvested and with minimal intervention. The farming here isn't easy and so it is with only a true labour of love that Bruno Duchêne has created success and a cult-like status amongst the wine world.

The wines have become iconic, with bright labels that are distinctive from across the room and even more so on the palate.
