Thibaud Brocard is a fifth-generation vigneron at the helm of his family’s domain in the Côte des Bar, Brocard Pierre. Succeeding his father, for whom the estate is currently named, Thibaud took over in 2012. He works the 6.5ha farm with organic and biodynamic principles, although he hasn’t committed to any one particular certification. He vinifies his 11 parcels separately, prefers to make vintage wines from single grape varieties, and exercises extra-long lees ageing. His Bulles de Blancs and Contrée Noire (Blancs de Blancs and Blanc de Noirs respectively) each see 5 years on lees before release, adding all of those yummy brioche flavours Thibaud enjoys most.
