Bouchard Père & Fils, is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, maintaining tradition for nearly three centuries across nine generations of winemakers - a claim that is almost unheard of.
With a sprawl of vineyard holdings over the Cote d’Or, they are producing small quantities of an extensive terroir of Burgundy that allows for a deep exploration into old vines, and individual site expression in each cuvée.
Corton is the only red Grand Cru on the Cote du Beaune and the only red Grand Cru on the Cote d’Or to be divided into “sous climats”. The Le Corton vineyard gave the name to this historic appellation. The Domaine farms 3.55 hectares of Pinot Noir turning a tiny parcel into a very special wine. This wine is incredibly structured and shows great potential for cellar ageing. It otherwise needs a moment to express its racy freshness that gives great balance to a complex and layered wine.
