Without a doubt, Angelo, along with his songs Luca and Matteo, are producing the most exciting wines from Lombardy in recent years. They’ve focussed their cultivation on the region’s Chiavennasca, otherwise known as Nebbiolo, working meticulously by hand (and foot) on their steep, rocky vineyards high in the Swiss/Italian Alps. These 7 hectares are also planted to small amounts of indigenous varieties in their effort to represent Valtelinna in its truest form.
Their wines are extremely colourful, full of personality and life. Working to serve the land organically and naturally in the winery allows for a style they have become synonymous with, building their reputation on the purest forms of wine. The ‘Jazpemi’ comes from a specific selection of Nebbiolo vines that form a firmly structured, nuanced expression. It shows their love and respect for these ancestral lands with such energetic wines.
