By Burgundy standards, Arnaud Baillot is considered a newcomer having made his first vintage in 2014. Located in Levernois, a small village on the South-East of some of Beaune’s best vineyards, Arnaud is producing wines of incredible tension and precision. His style is energetic and respectful to vineyard expression whilst offering incredible value from an up-and-coming star.
It’s hard to talk about the prestige of the Cote de Beaune without mentioning Puligny-Montrachet - a holy area of land producing premium Chardonnay on its well drained slopes. This wine shows distinct characters found on these sites, leaning into richer honeysuckle, apricots and almonds. An elevage entailing 50% new oak barrels creates a slippery palate that balances the freshness of this wine with a deep and thought-provoking concentration.
