By Burgundy standards, Arnaud Baillot is considered a newcomer having made his first vintage in 2014. Located in Levernois, a small village on the South-East of some of Beaune’s best vineyards, Arnaud is producing wines of incredible tension and precision. His style is energetic and respectful to vineyard expression whilst offering incredible value from an up-and-coming star.
The Premier Cru ‘Les Bouchères’ is located just below 1er Cru ‘Les Porusots’, known for its jarringly steep slopes, rocky soils and broad exposure to the South-East. The site, along with the warmth of the 2020 vintage, produces a wine of ripe lemons and juicy peaches that is elegantly packaged within a framework of fresh acid. With a smattering of new oak used during elevage, some toasted almonds and a hint of pine needles creates a wine of layered pleasure.
