Clos du Tue-Boeuf has a rich history in Les Montils dating back to the Middle Ages, having been served amongst the royal families, most notably Francis I and Queen Claude. Likewise, the Puzelat family has its roots in the region dating back to the 15th century. Puzelat brothers, Thierry and Jean-Marie, are currently sharing the family estate and a small importing company featuring only natural and organic wines, like themselves. Today the estate consists of 10ha in Cheverny AOP and 4ha in Touraine AOP. Their wines are made primarily of Sauvignon, Romorantin, Gamay or Pinot Noir, and a touch a Côt (in the Touraine Rouge). They also produce wines under the Vin de France label, providing a style that is designed to be drunk in its youthful vigour.
