Damien Bonnet took over Gaillac’s rising star winery, Domaine de Brin, in 2008. He immediately set about to farming his 14ha organically and today is certified organic and using biodynamic principles. His focus is on native and historic varieties of the region, such as Mauzac, Loin de l’oeil and Duras. He uses concrete and large oak vats in the winery, but splashes around with amphora as well. Given the unique positioning of Gaillac in South West France, the region benefits from both the Mediterranean and Atlantic influences. These wines tick all the boxes for intrigue and delight, and are surely going to continue to shine.
