Domaine des Ardoisières is a highly sought-after, cult-like wine from the Savoie region in France. Denis Perroux and Michel Grisard, biodynamic pioneers of the region, revived the Côteau de Cevins slope in 1998 when they painstakingly planted Altesse. In 2010, after many years and many more plantings, Grisard retired and Brice Omont was promoted from his assistant to primary manager; the winery has continued to flourish under his direction. Three wines are made from the Côteau de Cevins site: Quartz (100% Altesse), Schiste (white blend of Jacquère, Roussette, Malvoisie, and Mondeuse Blanche), and Améthyste (red blend of Persan and Mondeuse Noire). The Argile white and red come from another site located 40 minutes away - Côteau de St. Pierre de Soucy. The wines are known for their freshness and purity, kissed by the alpine air.
