Charles Ballot has been at the helm of this Meursault-based winery since 2000, when he took over from his father. Their 10 hectares are primarily devoted to Chardonnay, including plots in all 3 of the great premier crus of Meursault. The vines in 1er cru Genevrières are the eldest at 70+ years of age. He approaches the vineyard with lutte raisonée, but opts for organic farming where possible. In the winery he uses 10-15% new oak for village whites and maximum 25% for white premiers crus over 12 months. He also produces a few reds, primarily from Pommard and Volnay, which spend 14-18 months in barrel.
