Château Pierre-Bise is a family owned and operated estate in Anjou, Loire Valley. Pierre Papin purchased 9 hectares of Pays de la Loire property in 1950. His son Claude, along with Claude’s wife Joelle, have since expanded the estate into Rochefort, Chaume, and Quarts de Chaume totalling 45 hectares. They make excellent, mineral-driven single-vineyard Cabernet Franc and dry Chenin Blanc that champion the Anjou terroir, but it is their sweet wines that are most celebrated. Claude and his son conduct their harvest over the course of 2 months, carefully selecting the berries as necessary. The vines in Quarts de Chaume can produce as little as 15hl/ha in a season.
