Tenute Marchesi di Grésy owns 45ha of vines in the northern Italian region of Piedmont, between Langhe and Monferrato. Twenty-four of those hectares are in Martinenga, prime Barbaresco territory and the site of their headquarters. The Camp Gros Martinenga Barbaresco Riserva DOCG is their flagship wine, having been family owned since 1797 and produced as a single bottle since 1978. The Camp Gros is a particular piece of the Martinenga vineyard, sitting closer to cru Rabaja. The wine sees 12 months in French barriques followed by 16 months in Slavonian oak barrels. Intense notes of violets and dried rose petals are complimented by sweet tobacco and leather.
