Nestled in the heart of New Zealand’s Central Otago region, Mora is the premium label of the Skeggs family’s winemaking venture, drawing on over 90 hectares of estate vineyards in Bannockburn and Pisa.
The 2023 Chardonnay is a marriage of energy and texture. Fruit is drawn equally from Eden Vineyard (Pisa) and Cairnmuir Vineyard (Bannockburn). Whole‑bunch pressed and barrel‑fermented (20% new oak), it spent 9 months in French oak barrels, undergoing full malolactic fermentation with frequent lees stirring.
Nose: Preserved lemon, charred lime, stone fruits and honeysuckle. Palate: Creamy texture with flavours of baked lemon cheesecake and panna cotta, underpinned by lively acidity and a mineral drive. Elegant, refined and built for both immediate enjoyment and medium‑term cellaring.
