Creme de Cassis, violets, a lesson in tasting purple. Beautiful lacework tannin, fruit concentration, utter finesse.

It was in 1988 that the history of wine began at Maison Bonnard. The two brothers, Roland and Frédéric settled with a single hectare of vines, in the middle of their parents' polycultural farm. Today, thirty years later, the estate extends over 16 hectares, with a new generation that is expanding the ranks... Romain and Anne-Sophie, their children taking over. In the heart of Bugey, a vineyard nestled between Savoie and Jura, is the small village of Crept. The raw and untouched landscape is something breathtaking. Over the years, they’ve managed to find plots that speak to them, and allow them to create the wines they love. The vines are planted on the steep slopes of Montagnieu, on ridges of big limestone boulders for the mondeuse and pinot noir. Clay and lime for chardonnay and gamay.

They like to say they’ve always worked with peasant common sense; then from vintage to vintage, biodynamics appeared to be obvious. In order to respect and best reveal the authenticity of our terroirs but also with the future in mind.
