Hard to describe a wine such as this, but it is a must try for any serious orange wine drinker. Any serious wine drinker, at that. Despite Josko Gravner being heralded as one of the faces of the natural wine revolution, even when he was starting out, he was making wines that offered transcendence to the drinker. Now, every establishment worth their salt and skins all over the world fights one another for a few of the 39000 bottles he produces from his 18 hectare estate. The estate is arguably one of Italy’s best (by far) at making minimal intervention wines, inspiring people all over, the master of skin contact and extreme maceration times, and was one of the first to turn to amphoras as an ageing vessel. He and Radikon, Movie, helped put their region, back on the map. There is simply no comparison between Gravner’s wines (in matters of texture, cleanliness, precision and depth).
