'Cuvee Theo' Riesling 2022

Cuvee Theo is the perfect Riesling to cut your teeth on if you’re looking to understand Alsace. Fruit from the Le CLos des Capucins, at the base of the hill. So much orange peel, jasmine, magnolia, subtle green herbs like cut parsley and grass, finishing acid rich but sensual. It’s hard to look at Alsace as a region and pick out wineries that aren’t iconic, but Domaine Weinbach is certainly circumnavigating the heavens of his peers - a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture and winemaking, and producer of some of the world's greatest aromatic wines. The Domaine sits at the foot of the Schlossberg hill, surrounded by a small waterway that trickles through the property, dating back to 1612 when it was first established by Capuchin monks. 27 hectares of vineyards, in what is mostly Grand Cru territory - including the Schlossberg GC, but also the Furstentum GC and the Clos de Capucins.
