Domaine Belargus is devoted to showcasing the terroirs of Anjou through single vineyard expressions of Chenin Blanc. Ivan Massonnat is the man with the plan at Domaine Belargus, and he’s amassed some Loire Valley legends to help bring his vision to life, namely Guy Bossard and Jo Pithon who bring their biodynamic farming expertise to the estate. The 24 hectares of vines have one thing in common – an underlying layer of schist; they include plots in Quarts de Chaume, Savennières, and Layon Valley. They produce a range of dry and sweet wines from minimal yields, averaging 25hl/ha compared to the typical 60hl/ha, adding to the power, finesse, and concentration of their wines.
