Bouchard Père & Fils, is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, maintaining tradition for nearly three centuries across nine generations of winemakers - an almost unbelievable claim to make.
With a sprawl of vineyard holdings over the Cote d’Or, they are producing small quantities of an extensive terroir of Burgundy that allows for a deep exploration into old vines, and individual site expression in each cuvée.
The Bouchard family has held land here since 1853. From a tiny lieu-dit of 0.43-hectares, the Pinot Noir of ‘Les Rguiens’ is one of the most reputed in Pommard. Planted mostly over limestone soil, the fruit is elegant and well structured. Handled with a gentle elevage in wood providing a bright and finely tuned wine.
