Domaine Giudicelli is located in the northern region of Patrimonio, Corsica. The island, which sits off the southern coast of Provence, is actually closer to Sardinia, Italy than it is to mainland France. As a result, the grape varietals found here are more Italian in origin. The principal red variety, Nielluccio is a variant of Sangiovese. Nielluccio is the foundation of Muriel Giudicelli’s Patrimonio Rouge, which spends 12-18 months in Rousseau foudres.

Although Muriel worked throughout France, her close childhood ties to Corsica always had her wanting to settle on the island. After hearing of a vigneron who was retiring and looking to sell, Muriel purchased his 5ha of vines and began farming organically. Today, she and her husband have expanded their estate to 10ha. They received their biodynamic certification in 2012 and treat with a minimal interventionist approach.
