Critically acclaimed, but given its proximity to Pomerol’s most famous estates, Château Lafleur has gone somewhat under the radar. With vines touching those of Château Pétrus and neigbouring Vieux Château Certan, Château Lafleur is indeed in good company. The tiny 4.5-hectare estate was founded in 1872, but today is run by Baptiste and Julie Guindaudeau. Les Pensées is their 2nd wine made from a small 0.68ha plot of differing soil within the Lafleur estate, producing a lighter style compared to the first. The couple, along with their vineyard manager Omri Ram, have also established projects in the greater Bordeaux AOC region using cuttings from their Pomerol vineyard. Les Perrières is their Bordeaux Supérieur from the 5 adjacent plots in Fronsac. 2018 was their first bottling of this wine.
