Domaine Giachino is located in the arduous Chartreuse Hills of Savoie. The steep hillsides, the rocky soil, and the unpredictable climate, all lend to a difficult region to sow, but also one that can make astoundingly textured and mineral-driven wines. Frédéric Giachino has been making wine for the past 20 years. When he took an interest in organic viticulture, his brother David re-joined the estate. Today they farm 9ha of Mondeuse, Gamay, Persan, Roussette, and Jacquère, with Jacquère making up 6ha alone. The Monfarina cuvée is 100% Jacquère.
