'La Fourchaume - La Pièce au Comte' Chablis 1er Cru 2022

Jean-Claude Bessin and Evelyn Tremblay weren’t in the winemaking business when they took over Evelyn’s father’s vines in the late 1980s. An architect and a pharmacist by trade, they’ve dedicated themselves to making wines of purity and elegance. Low yields, hand harvested, long lees ageing (up to 18 months), neutral oak. Their 12-hectares of vines are scattered throughout Chablis premier cru – Fourchaume, Montmains, La Forêt – and a slice of grand cru Valmur with vines dating back to the 1940s. A special selection of old vines from their Fourchaume vineyard is bottled as “La Pièce au Comte”.
