'Roux Beaute' Roussanne 2024

Yangarra Estate is one of the defining names of Blewitt Springs, the elevated, sandy north-eastern corner of McLaren Vale. Owned by the Jackson family and shaped by winemaker Peter Fraser, this certified biodynamic estate has become Australia’s benchmark for Rhône varieties and has twice been named International Winery of the Year. Roux Beauté comes from Block 6, the estate’s oldest Roussanne planting, on weathered sand and ironstone soils. It’s made in just two ceramic eggs, with nearly half the fruit spending seven months on skins. The result is a golden, textural white of real presence: baked quince, yellow plum, honeysuckle and preserved lemon, with creamy, nutty depth, fine grip and a salty, lingering finish. Rich yet beautifully balanced, it’s one of Australia’s great whites and will age gracefully for a decade or more.
