Pinot Noir 2025

In 1985, Denis and Margaret Pooley planted ten rows of Riesling and seven rows of Pinot Noir on their farm at Cooinda Vale, in southern Tasmania’s Coal River Valley. That small beginning made Pooley the island’s first three-generation wine family. Today grandchildren Anna Pooley, as winemaker, and Matt Pooley, as viticulturist, run one of Tasmania’s most admired estates. The region’s cool, dry climate and long ripening season suit Pinot Noir beautifully. This release draws on the family’s Cooinda Vale vineyard and select Tasmanian growers, matured in French oak barriques and puncheons. Expect perfumed violet, red cherry, strawberry and red plum, with fresh herbs, a gentle forest-floor note and a hint of spicy cedar. Light and supple, with polished tannins and a long, juicy finish, it’s a benchmark of Tasmanian Pinot.
