The 2024 Hoddles Creek Estate Pinot Gris is a masterclass in texture, balance and aromatic finesse. Winemaker Franco D’Anna draws on the cool climate of the Upper Yarra Valley—where red volcanic soils and high-elevation vineyards shape wines of energy and detail—to craft a Pinot Gris that’s anything but ordinary. A portion of the grapes sees skin contact and wild fermentation in old barriques, giving this vintage its pale blush hue and chalky grip. Expect lifted notes of pear, red apple and kaffir lime on the nose, with a palate that weaves in raspberry, cherry and a subtle, savoury edge.
