'Ancienne Cuvée Carnot' Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru Magnum 2020

Bouchard Père & Fils, is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, maintaining tradition for nearly three centuries across nine generations of winemakers - an almost unbelievable claim to make. 

With a sprawl of vineyard holdings over the Cote d’Or, they are producing small quantities of an extensive terroir of Burgundy that allows for a deep exploration into old vines, and individual site expression in each cuvée. 

The 2020 Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru is a powerful blend of cherries, violets and black berries - a Pinot Noir of incredible depth and complexity. The fruit comes from Bouchard’s 3.7-hectare monopole that is cropped to produce low yields that provide great complexity of flavour and profoundly balanced structure in the wines.
