Domaine Bachelet‑Monnot, founded in 2005 by brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet, is a Côte de Beaune estate spanning 23 hectares. They farm sustainably and focus on low-yield, high-quality whites and reds from parcels such as Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Maranges. (Organic-leaning since plantings and yields are tightly managed.)
From a tiny 0.4-hectare parcel with mature vines, this 2023 Chardonnay opens with a taut bouquet of oyster-shell mineral and Granny Smith apple, followed by mid-yellow stone fruit and white citrus. The palate is fresh and finely etched, showing lively acidity, refined texture and impressive length—though more restrained than some peers, promising excellent age-worthiness.
Generous in mid-palate weight, yet grounded by cutting acidity and fine minerality. A sophisticated Premier Cru white Burgundy well suited to cellar-life, elegant seafood, or fine poultry.
