After a successful career on the French fencing team, Jean-Baptiste Semmartin turned his attention to the world of wine. He began working in Bordeaux, followed by Collioure, and finishing with a defining experience in Burgundy working for Domaine Giboulot. He founded what is today’s Domaine Lajibe in southern France. Located in Jurançon, a region best known for its sweet wines, Domaine Lajibe produces two dry wines and one spectacular sweet from local grape varieties. He has been working organically since 2010 and the estate received biodynamic certification in 2019.
