The Gautheron family hold a 14.5 hectare estate located about 4km from the town of Chablis in the petit village of Fleys. Alain took over from his father in the early 90’s as the sixth generation vigneron and is now joined by his son, Cyril, who is helping to bring their wines into the modern era.
Slightly set back from the Grands Crus vineyards, Montée de Tonnerre is a site with moderate slopes, exposed to the west and welcomes warm afternoons. Full-bodied yet chiseled, this wine is a blend of rich stone fruits with a lick of salinity. A great example of this intensity of this Premier Cru vineyard, with amazing potential for aging.
