Fratelli Revello is a young estate by Barolo standards. The Revello family relocated to La Morra, Barolo in 1945, just after WW2. They began as grape growers and sold their fruit to local winemakers, but with a spectacular 1967 vintage coinciding with the birth of their first son, they decided to make a little wine themselves. Today the estate produces Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo. Their Barolos are considered “modern”, meaning they ferment in temperature controlled stainless steel and mature in French oak barriques, some of which is new. They bottle a number of single vineyards, including Cerretta, Conca, Gattera and Gorette. The Gianchini cuvée is found in the Annunziata subzone and sees 40% new oak, while the remaining 60% is in 2yr-aged barrels.
