Situated at the highest point of Saint-Emilions limestone plateau, Chateau Belair-Monage has long been considered one of the region's best estates. It is a historical site, tracing its origins back to Roman times, combining the terroirs of the most advantageous site, producing wines of both delicacy and intensity. Only taken over by the next generation in 2008, it was renamed with the addition of ‘Monage’ to represent the maiden name of Jean-Pierre Moueix’s mother, as well as the literal translation to ‘my angel’.
A wine of great finesse, made from mostly Merlot fruit, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. It has a concentrated and silky texture with profound balance of juicy fruits and rich earth.
